ShieldAfrica 2019: Secured and regulated land, sea and air borders, conditions for the development of Africa
A strong Africa in a globalised world requires open, secured and controlled border through modern technologies and proven equipment. Land, sea and air borders are not sealed barriers. They must be dynamic areas of exchange, permitting movement of people and goods.
These activities must respect the States’ sovereignty, while implementing controls on goods and people in accordance with applicable laws. Cross-border regulation is a major issue in national and international Security. In Africa, it requires modern, efficient customs administrations and dynamic regional structures for cooperation between African nations.
The development of a country cannot take place without: security of people and property, security of transports, network security (electricity, water, Internet), health security, banking and trustee security, cybersecurity and port, airport and borders security…
ShieldAfrica 2019 (in Abidjan in January of every odd year), the major international Security and Defence event in Africa. The exhibition offers solutions in the land-sea-air domains to respond to the challenges and needs of the continent’s Security & Defence: securing cities, controlling the spaces, managing flows and resources, fighting against cross-border terrorism, supporting the urbanisation, securing economic activity and preserving all the continent's human wealth.
In 2017, ShieldAfrica brought together 133 exhibitors from 25 countries, 50 Official Delegations including several of ministerial level and more than 3,200 visitors.
ShieldAfrica asserts itself as a reference exhibition with a global offering for a safer Africa. The next edition will take place in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, from 21 to 24 January 2019.

Antennas need to cope with some of the world’s harshest and most isolated ocean environments. Intense cold, extreme corrosion, ice, rain, hail, vibration and the constant jarring force of the waves must all be overcome on a daily basis. Added to this is the requirement for maximum product reliability, given that shore-based workshops and specialist technicians are far away.
